As the name indicates this is one of the basic branch of engineering which deals with mechanisms and machines that transfer and transmit energy in various aspects of machine, its components, their design, theory behind it. Not only this, it also involves study of various techniques of manufacturing and how these can be employed to obtain the desired products. Product design, its behavior under various conditions, analysis, as well as performance of the product need to be studied by a mechanical engineer. The work of a Mechanical Engineer can be extremely challenging and fulfilling, requiring IT, design and analytical skills together with an ability to work as a team. As their work involves production, transmission and use of mechanical power and heat, they have to analyze sources and the power they generate and the design problems if any.
